Reclaiming Connection:

Grief healing group through the power of Gestalt

“I sat with anger long enough until she told me her real name was grief.” - C.S. Lewis

Are you grieving and feeling alone, numb, and disconnected from life? Do you long to feel seen, heard, and safe in your sorrow? Too many of us never find the support we need to move through grief, and so grief ends up quietly controlling our lives. Loss severs the bonds between us and the rest of the world. We lose our sense of community and feel cut off from the people and the life we love. We walk around in a fog, hoping life will feel meaningful again — but that day never seems to come. Maybe you also wonder who you are now. The person you were before loss may feel like a stranger, and you're not sure how to find yourself again.

Those who have walked through grief and found the other side know that a brighter future is possible. It will take some courage and commitment, but it is possible to reclaim a sense of self-worth, meaning, and connection to others.

The solidarity and community of joining this grief recovery group offers a safe and steady protection against feelings of despair, isolation, and being overwhelmed. Grief isolates; this group re-creates a sense of belonging. Grief silences; in this group you will be seen, heard, and affirmed. Grief can make you feel invisible; this group restores your sense of place in the world and among people who truly understand.

Our group goals are to assist you in:

  • unburdening your heart to make room for joy again

  • rebuilding a sense of identity after loss

  • feeling more at peace day to day

  • creating meaningful relationships and connections

  • finding more stability as you move through the world

Who is this for:

  • those grieving the death of a spouse, partner, child, parent, sibling, or close friend

  • caregivers who have lost the person they were caring for

  • those experiencing anticipatory grief while caring for someone who is seriously ill

  • people who feel their grief has gone unacknowledged or unsupported

  • anyone who feels stuck in loss and ready to find a path forward

You might be wondering…or FAQ’s

  • You might. And that's okay. In fact, it's more than okay — it's welcome here. This is a space where falling apart is not something to be ashamed of. It's often where the healing begins. Everyone in this group will understand, because they are walking a similar road.

  • Never. Showing up is enough. You are welcome to simply sit, listen, and breathe. This group moves at your pace, not the other way around.

  • Grief thrives in isolation. Being witnessed by others who truly understand can be one of the most powerful antidotes to the loneliness grief creates. This group is intentionally small and carefully held so that you feel safe, not overwhelmed.

  • Most people who walk through the door have never done anything like this before either. You don't need any experience, any particular beliefs, or any idea of what you're doing. You just need to show up.

  • It might be exactly the right time. You don't need to be ready — you just need to be willing. This group meets you exactly where you are.

  • Most grief support focuses on talking about your loss. Using the Gestalt approach, we work with what you are experiencing right now — in your body, your heart, and your relationships — recognizing that you are already a whole person with the answers to your healing already within you. Alongside my animal companions, I am here to help you find them. This is not a place where you will be diagnosed or told how to grieve — it is a place where you will be witnessed, supported, and gently guided back to yourself.

“If I could wave a magic wand, I’d heal everyone!”

If you are struggling to find your footing after losing someone you love, you don't have to carry that weight alone. Grief is not a problem to be fixed — it is a testament to how deeply you loved. At Wild Wisdom Companions, I offer a space where your grief is honored and your healing is supported. As a trauma-informed Equine Gestaltist, the work I do can help lift the emotional weight you're carrying and gently reawaken joy in your life.

What is Gestalt?

The process of Gestalt, which means flowing into formation and wholeness, is an experiential process that is deeply tied to somatics (body response). My method sees the individual as a whole person, with the answers already inside themselves, waiting to be brought into awareness. This holistic approach allows for complete release of energy and emotional blocks or pain. Almost all clients of this principle experience lasting changes in their lives and responses to others.
